Okay everyone, thanks for the patience. I hope y'all enjoyed your days off and had a great weekend. We're going right back into the game. Brian N
was voted out of Spira's tribal council and as you all know Jake was removed for inactivity.
We're down to 14 players. 7 on Ivalice, 7 on Spira.
Today each member of each tribe will face off against a member of the opposite tribe. The matchups will be as follows...
Aaron vs Brian W
Alex vs Chris M
Chris R vs Christine
Eric vs Deron
Evan vs Jack
Kelly vs Josh
Patrick vs Robbie
So what exactly will we be playing? Well, naturally we'll be playing one of Final Fantasy's most beloved card games, Triple Triad!
What exactly is this game for those of us who are not familiar with the game...well allow me to explain :)
Triple Triad starts with a 3 x 3 playing field that looks something like this...
For this immunity challenge we will number each spot by row and give each one a letter.
Row 1-A // Row 1-B // Row 1-C
Row 2-A // Row 2-B // Row 2-C
Row 3-A // Row 3-B // Row 3-C
(imagine each spot corresponds to the matching spot in the grid)
The next thing that you need to know is that in Triple Triad a player gets 5 cards that look like this...
Notice that the card has 4 numbers on it. This are what we need to focus on when we are playing Triple Triad.
If Player 1 were to put that card into the playing field in say spot Row 1-A then the new grid would look like this.
After Player 1 has placed a card down then it would be Player 2's turn. The object of the game is to obtain a majority of spots on the grid. Players will
aim to flip cards over and own them (and their spot on the grid). We'll get to that.
But for now, let's look at what Player 1 has done. Player 1 has put the card in the top left corner of the field. Looking at the card we can see the
numbers 4, 4, 6, and 7. The two 4's are located in the top spot and the left spot. No cards can be placed outside of the field so those 4's are null
and void. Player 1 has strategically protected his card by placing it where those low numbered 4's are no longer vulnerable. This leaves the 6 and the 7
in play. The 7 is at the bottom and the 6 is located on the right side of the card.
If Player 2 wanted to steal that card they could for instance play a card like this one...
This card has the numbers 8, 1, 8, and 4. If they were to place this card beside Player 1's card the field would look like this...
Player 2 put the card down beside Player 1's card. The 8 on the left side of Player 2's card is HIGHER than the 6 on the right side of Player 1's
card. Player 2 takes control of Player 1's card and Player 2 now has 2 cards/spots on the grid. It would then be Player 1's turn and they would
attempt to put a card down and either take possession of one of those cards or play defensively like they attempted to do in their first turn.
Note - Player 2 could have placed a card anywhere but chose to play aggressively and take Player 1's card. Player 1 can also now place a card anywhere,
they don't have to try and take one of those cards on the board but since the goal of the game is to get the most cards it would probably be beneficial to
do so.
If Player 2 had placed down a card in the same spot but that card had a 7 or lower then nothing would happen. Player 1 would have kept their card and Player 1
does not take possession of Player 2's card. The possession takes place only by the card that is being layed down. What is layed down is already played
and cannot take possession of any cards that are being laid down in the future.
Any questions please ask.
Your cards will be revealed to you in your journal before the immunity challenge begins at 7 PM EST.
You do not need to reveal your cards to your opponent.
Either player in the match-up may start the match.
Each turn you must update the grid, please use the "Preview" button before replying to ensure the grid looks the way it is supposed to look.
Upon each update we will also update a list to make things easier as to who actually owns what.

Got it?
Starts at 7 PM ESTand your cards will be given to you shortly before then. I will also have an IC forum and threads up for everyone by 7 EST. Thx and again
ask questions. This may seem confusing but is quite simple. It is all about the numbers on the cards!
